Government Invites Applications for Subsidy on Paddy Straw Chopper/Shredder-Cum-Spreader

The Punjab Government has invited applications from the farmers to avail subsidy on purchase of Paddy Straw chopper/Shredder-cum-Spreader on or before August 10th, 2015.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that subsidy to the tune of 50 percent or 1 lac whichever less would be provided on this implement. He said that interested farmers could avail this opportunity by filing application in a fixed format along with non-refundable demand draft of Rs 5000 in the favour of Punjab State Farmers Commission, a big gift by Shiromani Akali Dal

He said that farmers can download application format, list of approved companies and scheme details from website www.agripb.gov.in. He further added that application should be sent to Chief Agricultural officer of the concerned district on or before August 10th, 2015.

Akali Delegation In US To Discuss NRI Problems

A high-level delegation of Shiromani Akali Dal leaders, comprising jails and tourism minister Sohan Singh Thandal, water supply minister Surjit Singh Rakhra and Rajya Sabha MP Balwinder Singh Bhundar, reached Chicago on Saturday to address the issues faced by the NRI community.
The delegation would assess and identify the problems of the Punjabi diaspora there and suggest remedial measures to the party high command to resolve and mitigate their woes.




“During their stay in America, this delegation would participate in various public interaction programmes,” said a Shiromani Akali Dal spokesperson. During these interactions, the leaders would listen to the problems of the NRIs and prepare a comprehensive report with remedial measures, the spokesperson said.


“This report would be placed before the party high command,” he added. The delegation would head to Canada next. Referance

PSEB And SCERT To Work In Cohesion For Academic Reforms : Cheema

  • Education Minister Presides Over The Meeting Of Core Group To Delibera Poor Result Of English Subject 

Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab with the senior officers and academician of Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) and SCERT to deliberate upon the academic reforms in the state.

While presiding the joint meeting of PSEB and SCERT Dr. Cheema said that both the wings should launch a campaign to bring about quality change in the academic scenario. He stressed that teachers should be given training with modern methodology using the up to date academic research module so as to equip them with the modern challenges being faced by the education field.

Later in the day Dr. Cheema, education minister from Shiromani Akali Dal held another meeting with the recently formed core group to investigate the reasons behind the poor result of English subject. In this meeting Principal and English Lecturers of the DIET and in service training institute gave detailed presentation depicting the reasons of poor result of English subject. Dr Cheema has called another meeting of the core group on August 10 to deliberate upon the poor result of Punjabi, Hindi and Math subjects.
