The Punjab Government constituted a high level team under
Mr. Arunjit Singh Miglani, IAS, Registrar, Co-operative Societies to oversee the evacuation stranded pilgrims from Sri Hemkunt Sahib who have
been struck there due to collapse of crucial bridge after torrential rains in
Uttrakhand region.
He would have sufficient number of medical teams and security personnel that would be provided to him by Principal Secretary, Health and ADGP (Security). Meanwhile Punjab Government has placed number of buses at the disposal of team for evacuation of stranded pilgrims

Mr. Miglani would liaise with the Government
of Uttrakhand and station himself at Chamoli/Joshimath with immediate
effect to oversee evacuation. He would report the progress of evacuation
to Punjab Civil Control Room on daily basis.
The Spokesman of Shiromani Akali Dal said that Mr. Lakhmir Singh, PCS, Sub Divisional Magistrate,
S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) would also accompany the aforesaid team of official
